Demolition and Construction Process |

STEP ONE: |
|
| Demolition and Excavation. We didn't bother with picks and shovels. This required something with teeth! |
|
STEP TWO: |
|
| Rototilling, excavation, and general sculpting. |
|
STEP THREE: |
|
| We lay out drainage, electrical, and mainline irrigation. That's Juan in the photo. He is not only my foreman...but my good friend as well. |

STEP FOUR: |
|
| Setting up the forms for concrete. |
|
STEP FIVE: |
|
| Adding the AB (aggregate base) and some soil ammendments. |
|
STEP SIX: |
|
| Moving in the boulders! For this project, we have selected Moss Rock. |
|
STEP SEVEN: |
|
| The house is taped off with caution signs and plastic (to prevent the concrete from splashing on the house). The base rock is added, compacted, and the rebar grid is formed. |
|
STEP EIGHT: |
|
| Concrete. This project is going to be a two color, skin stamped concrete. |
NOTE: If you look closely, you'll see there are empty bands in the concrete. We're in the middle of selecting an appropriate tile for the inlay. |

STEP NINE: |
|
| Clean-up and removal of concrete forms and related debris. We've sculpted the mounds, set the boulders, completed the irrigation system, and formed the lawn area. |
|
STEP TEN: |
|
| Setting the tile inlay and grouting the joints. Although no pictures were taken, of the entry way prior to the installation, the transformation was spectacular! |
